As long as you roll those 29 times on items that are in the same “ bucket” (more on this later), the 30th attempt will hit SUCCESS.
Now to save costs, you could just do this repeatedly from +10 on different items. And at the same time, you’ve upgraded your +11 item as well. What does this mean, though? This means that if you upgrade the +11 item 29 times, and then use the next attempt on the +15 item, it will upgrade to +16 in that last attempt (The 30th). For example (I do not know the exact values yet), a +15 item might take 30 attempts to upgrade whereas a +11 item will never take 30 attempts to upgrade even though they share the same pool. The real culprit here is the MAX UPGRADE RNG that you just rolled. That shiny +15 helmet isn’t dooming you with countless upgrade attempts, don’t blame the innocent helmet. Count how many attempts until the upgrade bar hangs, that means it will take X attempts for that item to upgrade.
